Okay, that was just a teaser. Let's start with our overnight stay in Athens before heading to the islands...
Athens
View of the Acropolis from the rooftop bar at our hotel
Views from the Parthenon
Delicious dinner #1 at Strofi
Slippyest stairs on earth. It honestly took us about ten minutes to get down them without falling. Then we realized there were some stairs right next to them that were not thousands of years old. "Look, there's regular steps right here"
??
Yep, it's as breathtakingly beautiful as I had imagined. Every part of it - the food (more on that later), the people, the weather, of course the scenery, the perfect blue water. We had over 1,000 photos between the four of us. How do you pick the best?? Nope, couldn't do it. Still have to share a bazillion with you.
Our Santorini pad
High five for Greece being the coolest.
Heading to our first sunset dinner. Little did we know you had to walk down 264 steps covered in donkey poop to get there. Not the strongest recommendation we received.
"C'est quoi cette merde donkey trail?"
Watch out for lions on the island!
Getting ready to set sail on our sunset cruise! We all agreed it was one of our favorite things ever. Ever in life. Great company, gorgeous sights, swimming at a volcano, hot springs, cliff jumping, fresh seafood, Julie falling in love with the skipper :)
Kyle and his three sister wives, as an Athens cabbie decided.
What you're seeing here are sparks flying.
"Everybody put your hands together now!"
The aftermath of a six hour boat ride.
Second rattle-y-est car in Greece. (First place went to the one we rented in Mykonos.)
Black sand beach
Perfect wine bar to watch a fantastic sunset.
Kyle and I did a hike from Fira to Oia. It's twelve miles, see where we're heading...
Next to the sunset cruise, this was our favorite activity. Such pretty views along the way! If you like to be active on vacay, I strongly suggest the hike!
Um best Consulate location in the world?
Complete with infinity pool.
Can you imagine how tempting these glorious pools are along the way?
Huh. That's how the buildings stay so white.
Rewarding ourselves in the form of Santorini white wine and Greek veggies.
Another lion
(I have an obsession with lovely doors)
Best spot on the island.
Champagne on our balcony for the last night in Santorini
Ferry-bound! Off to Mykonos
New digs in Mykonos. Pretty spectacular.
We're in pure sunset-watching bliss, apparently.
Plati Gialos Beach
The best lunch I've had in my life was here, at Kiki's. A little place with no electricity, a tree in the middle used to build their roof on, and perhaps the greatest view from any restaurant.
Displaying my talents?
Even the mannequins are free spirits in Greece
Fooooood
I have to spotlight the grub. It is beyond delicious. Greek food is right up my alley. Fresh, lots of veggies, tons of flavor. Mmm mmm mmm.
So, what I'm saying is that you should plan a trip to Greece at some point. Then give me the dates and I'll meet you there.
Bisous!
